help, car wants to die when i come to a stop.

i just got my car back together, 383 w/ le2 heads and le4 cam. it starts up and idles fine, but when i coming to a stop it wants to idle down alot to like 500 rpm and it dosent want to idle back up. if i stop and hold it for a few seconds the idle will stay up. it is not throwing any codes, and i just had the tune done by pcm for less. i thought it might be the opti spark, it just craped out on me the other day on the cars maiden voyage. i just got the got it back on the road today w/ the msd pro billet, it runs noticebly smoother, but its still doing the same thing. does any one have any ideas? thanks.

It sounds like the tune at idle is a little off. That or you may have a vacuum leak. Not enough maybe.... Many things play into a car wanting to die at idle. If it's when you are pressing the brakes coming to a stop you might not have enough vacuum.

i was thinking that might be it, because it is only pulling 10in of vaccum at idle. but even if i let off the brakes it still wants to idle low. ive got to come to a dead stop and hlod the idle around 1500 for a few seconds and then it settles to normal.

Sounds like vacuum. Cam might be a little much for the stock vacuum setup. Get a canister.
