Oil pan gasket

Has anywhere here replaced the oil pan gasket while the motor was still in the car? How difficult was it and how long did it take? Did you have to lift the motor at all, or anything like that?

Just seeing what options I have, as I desperately need to replace that gasket.

And what gasket does everybody suggest? Thanks!!

I replaced my gasket on my 95 m6 car. I didn't have to lift the motor but i did have to remove the oil cooler from the car. I just decided to take the steps and deleted the oil cooler from my car. I just removed the oil pan bolts and dropped the pan down as far as it would go. I then fished the new gasket in between the pan and the block then bolted it all back up. It took a couple hours and wasn't a real big deal.

How exactly did you delete the oil cooler? That's the hoses that run to the oil filter and back to the w/p right? You had enough room to get the new gasket underneath the crank and all the internal stuff?

Thanks!
