Cometic or other?

Looking for anybody that has experience with Cometic head gaskets. They were recommended by my head porter so I bought them, but reading up on them I'm kinda worried about them sealing. the block is stock and I can clean it well but how smooth does it need to be so it wont seep? I plan on building the bottom end next winter so should I save the cometics and use them then or will they do the job now? I dont mind buying different gaskets now since it was a major pain pulling the heads with the engine in the car. recommendations?

A surface finish of 50 RA (roughness average) or finer, is recommended for a proper gasket seal. Anything rougher may conflict with the gasket design.

I would recommend going with the felpro gaskets for your current rebuild.

Unless it's high boost or a big nitrous shot, just use the Fel-Pro.
