thinking about going with a diff cam...

mods are in sig...i have a cc503 (224/230) in my car right now and it runs strong, but my roomate is talking alooooot of **** about the work he is doing to his mustang 5.slo over the winter. I was thinking about either the GM847, or CC306, or possibly an LE2 cam(but i can never find specs on it b/c its classified lol). I bought my car with the mods done to it, so im not sure what valve springs or rockers etc it has on it, but i am going to call the shop that did all the work and find out. Either that or pull a valve cover. I would like to be around 400rwhp n/a, and i have an edelbrock nitrous kit which i am going to use (125 shot). This car is not a DD, although i drive it alot b/c i love to drive it lol, but it does see alot of miles in good weather(about 50 miles a day) when i am driving it. With DR's and suspension i would like to see low-mid 11's (before the rear end shatters lol) Which to me seems pretty attainable. What cam should i go with? Thanks,
James

Lloyd can provide you with a cam that will overshadown the other two.. however, I don't think he sells the cams seperate, they only come with a heads package.

Talk to Bret Bauer for a custom cam. I like the xfi cams, but that's just me. You probably won't be able to tell what springs and all you have on there, unless they have a blue stripe. Those are the ones you want.

CC306 is one I never was too fond of. It's quite an old design. Go for something with more aggressive ramps.

custom cam. the 503 cam is comp's best cam IMO. had one in my 383 and loved it, no light switch power like the 306 at 3k, and great idle and broad torque curve. since lloyd doesn't sell cams separate, just go for a custom cam right for YOUR car.

i've been looking around in the classifieds and i found afew used LE2 cams with low miles on them for around $200-$250...but once again i dont want to buy it without knowing the specs on it, so i will most likely go with the gm847..checked out a few vids and im in love lol

the 847 sounds sweet..go to

http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...3f000f25c2.htm

makes great power but there is a certain powerband for it..a custom grind would make power where you wanted it.

Go solid roller (I will the next time I change). If not, do an comp xfi or lunati voodoo grind. They both have aggresive ramp designs. Also, Lloyd doesn't sell the cams, Bret does.

so that other grinders can take the proprietary specs of one cam guru and grind it themself. its a safety thing for all cam grinders. they never disappoint when you find them out, though.
