o2s and headers
o2s and headers
We have just installed o2s on the longtubes now we dont have the 02sims for the fronts can you run the car with out the sims for a while till we delete them out the car is a 96 camaro longtubes all emissions off with off road y no tuning yet. exhuast pacesetter longtubes.. thanks anyones
You have a total of four o2 sensors, two precat which are located towards the ends of the headers and two postcat. The postcat 02 sensors are the ones that will be deleted since you are running an off-road y-pipe with no cats. Therefore, you will need the 02 simulators for those rear 02 sensor harnesses. You can drive the car with out them, but you will get an SES light, but no effect on the cars performance. I'm not sure if you are confusing the front 02 sensors with the rears.... you mentioned putting simulators on the fronts, but this is not a good idea at all.
Yes it is the rear o2s that we are leaving unhooked. He has the fronts missed up with the rears. I knew we could run the car without them for the most part. I ordered the wrong o2 simms and need to get some others. Just wanna be able to get it out of his garage.
Started the car up open ORY.... GOODNESS it's loud. I dont even want to drive it like that. LOL I'm sure the car is getting knock retard due to how loud it is. Getting it dyno tunes on Thursday morning. YAY!
I remember when I did that for the first time, it sounded like a Nascar. I'm sure the neighbors were relieved when I finished the catback install a few days later.
Just drove it like that to get it home. It's been in my friends garage for a few days taking up space so I just wanted to get it out of there. I'm going to take it to get the exhaust welded up when the flanges get here and I got a few band clamps for the y pipe. Once that's done i'm going to put the o2 sims on and the 1.6 rockers. Time possibly for a tune after that.
