Exhaust leak(how hard to change?)

I have done a lot of work on my car and have enough common sence to figure most things out. I took my car to the shop and they said i have a exhaust leak on the passenger side. What is the easiest way to do it? Is there some short cut that i can do to just replace the gasket? Is it even a problem that hurts performance or just minor noise i can live with?

>its not that difficult to replace an exhaust gasket as long as you have some mechanical abilities, time ,and tools.
I like the copper gaskets since they seem to last longer.

If the leak is before the o2 sensors it can cause a false lean condition and cause the ecm to dump fuel thus causing the car to run rich.

Where did they say the leak is coming from? It sould be a pin hole in the piping or it coulds be a bad gasket or it could be froom the muffler or the cat. please supply more information.

Put it on a jack stand or stands and look for the leak, should be able to see it. If you can not see the leak then start the car and listen for it. Then you will see the complexity of the fix. Don't live wiht the noise, if you do every one hearing the car will think...trash, dude dont't take car of his toys.
