I am pretty sure i read that i would need a new timmingbelt cover to do this. How hard is it to do.

Can i just swap the guts out of the 97opti into the 93opti?

 

It will take a lot of items to swap, including the cam (if the 93 is stock).

Are the insides of the 2 the same?

 

They are not identical.

 

front cover, harness, timing chain set, different cam dowel pin, setup a vent for the opti, I am sure I might be missing something else.

I have a 93 and I did not see it worth it to make the so called up grade.

 

Let me clear up what i want to do a lil.

I have in my car now a 93 opti, i have left over from the swap i did my old 97 opti. I am gettnig a bad studder at 5k+ rpm's.
I want to swap just the cap rotor and optical sensor from my 97 opti into the 93. Can i do that with out anyproblems or are those pieces not the same.

 

Pretty sure the cap and rotor will swap as people have done vented cap conversions. Not sure about the sensor.
