Oil Cooler caused it
Oil Cooler caused it
The machine shop pulled my oil cooler apart, and there was all kinds of crap in it. RTV, metal, etc. So big lesson learned on doing a rebuild. I cleaned everything with a pressure washer and again with solvent. The machine shop owner told me that you can't clean the fins in the oil cooler. So I ordered a new one from Dal. So if you do a rebuild, inspect the oil cooler so you dont get old metal going through your motor on first start up.

Factory cooler? IMO, I would leave it off. I don't care for the design. If you want an oil cooler, buy an aftermarket one that does not use coolant as the heat transfer medium.
Re: Oil Cooler caused it
Where do I get an aftermarket oil cooler from? Dal can' get one for a few days. My motor is going to be ready tomorrow or friday from the machine shop.
