Oil Cooler caused it

The machine shop pulled my oil cooler apart, and there was all kinds of crap in it. RTV, metal, etc. So big lesson learned on doing a rebuild. I cleaned everything with a pressure washer and again with solvent. The machine shop owner told me that you can't clean the fins in the oil cooler. So I ordered a new one from Dal. So if you do a rebuild, inspect the oil cooler so you dont get old metal going through your motor on first start up.

Factory cooler? IMO, I would leave it off. I don't care for the design. If you want an oil cooler, buy an aftermarket one that does not use coolant as the heat transfer medium.

Where do I get an aftermarket oil cooler from? Dal can' get one for a few days. My motor is going to be ready tomorrow or friday from the machine shop.

Thanks:

You can get one just about anywhere that sells auto supplies.

I wouldn't run one at all unless you motor is going to be under extreme conditions that is. Oil works better when its not cool anyways...it needs to stay somewhat warm.
