2007 Camaro

New Camaro for 2007 will come with with a 3.9 litre V6, the LS2 rated at
390 HP and an SS model which will probably have a detuned version of the LS7 rated at 450HP.
For the 06 ZO6 the prices were announced a couple of days ago. It is
$ 65 K US base. The CA. price has not been announced yet but will be around $ 95K loaded out the door plus taxes.
Some American Dealers have already placed orders for customers for delivery in August.
I've talked to Dueck's but of course being in Canada they havent heard
anything yet.
The CETA is forsale. I would like to get 30K with the turbo and baer brakes.
I'll take 24K without the Turbo and brakes. Duecks will give me 21.8K on a trade but I get a tax credit for PST and GST which is around 3 K.

Re: 2007 Camaro

There was a news conference this week and this was announced by Bob Lutz (GM). The car will be built on a modified Kappa Platform. Go to DIGITALCorvette.com and go to forums and look for LS7 Camaro. Apparently there will be further announcements later this week. The new car will be more retro to look like early camaros. GM's attempt to go head to head with mustang. I guess the new Shelby at 450 HP is peaking GM's interest.

Re: 2007 Camaro

Try Digitalcorvettes.com, go to forums, then go to C6 ZO6 and C6R sub heading and look for article. Its too bad I'm somewhat computer illiterate, otherwise I could post the link.

Re: 2007 Camaro

sweet! I would love to buy one of them! No word on the Firebird version? When GM discontinued the f-body they said that that there was a chance the Camaro would come back but the Firdbird is permanently history You never know though...

Re: 2007 Camaro

Seems odd to me that GM could **** out a camaro based on a kappa platform so fast. They just killed the zeta platform fairly recently which the camaro was supposed to be based on. Nothing wrong with the kappa setup though. IRS and a stiff looking backbone chassis actually sounds pretty promising as a fun sports car.

Re: 2007 Camaro

Like I’ve said before “The day I believe that they have actually made a 5th gen Camaro, is the day one runs me over”. Well maybe not quite that drastic but I’m going to have to see it to believe it!!

And as far as I’m concerned that information is totally bogus just from the first read through. Without me even checking into it, I mean give me a break an LS2 rated to 390hp. They currently have LS2 in the SSR, GTO and Corvette rated at 400hp and that’s in 2005. What do you think the horsepower is going to be in 2007? If they even produce a Camaro its horsepower rating better be north of 400hp.

That's fake.

Look at the date it's posted on - April 1st.

You all have been had.

There's no way Chevrolet is going to release even a snipit of that kind of info..............yet.

If you're interested in staying on top of current 5th gen developments - visit the section of this site dedicated to them. I read nearly everthing there - lots of good info.
