Re: Catalytic Converter?

Is your search button broken? Because I saw one post about what the rattle was in your car? And now this one?

Also, I bet if I tell you that you'll need to replace your o2 sensors too when you replace your cat, you'll create another one asking about o2 sensors?

Oh yeah, and I agree with Ian.

DO A SEARCH...OR CALL A MECHANIC.

Since your catalytic converter is most likely the problem... your benefit from replacing it will be passing smog.

The benefit of changing to a aftermarket one is for hp gain.

Cool Re: Catalytic Converter?

Your CATALYTIC CONVERTER the universal one will costs around $60 and the only benefit will be you'll be able to pass Emissions. A way to check your CATALYTIC CONVERTER is to hit it with a rubber hammer if you here something rattling inside it than the CATALYTIC CONVERTER is bad.

Re: Catalytic Converter?

See I'm also a beginner, because I don't know what gutting my cat does, how to do it, or if I should even do it. But don't worry, I won't start a thread asking about it. I'll probably seacrh for it. So don't answer me in this thread, or I'll kill you!!

Re: Catalytic Converter?

I know I could of gutted it, but just wanted to place a high flow cat. I know I could of also added a straight pipe without a cat but once again I wanted to just replace my cat with a high flow cat.

And for all those haters out there, I do my searches. If you don't want to help me out and just say stupid comments don't reply at all.

For those that actualy help me out thanks a lot guys.

Ok don't read this then.

Gutting the cat is taking out the insides of the cat basically making it a empty pipe thus increasing air flow and in turn more hp. The downside is not passing smog.
