solid roller setups....

what kind of solid roller lifters are you guys running and do they require any machining to the block? i was looking at the crane cams 11522 and the comp cams 888. anyone using these? what are you opinions on them, or any other ones?

thanks
Bobby

Re: solid roller setups....

I think you will get a couple comments from guys not liking Crane Solid roller lifters or atleast that part number you mentioned.

I purchased some Crane Solid roller lifters from Thunder Racing but the part number is different
on my box it has 10510 & 2-2404

Thunder racing told me these were direct replacement and that they had good luck with these.

I'm trying to find out more before I use them.

Re: solid roller setups....

The reason most people are having problems with the crane 11522's is because they are using the comp cams 943 spring. I went through this to and I talked to jason. He explained to me that the reason the 11522's fail is that the springs 943 are too strong for those lifters. If you plan on using a softer spring (I am using comp 954) they should have NO problems

SilverZ,

What springs were you using? Approx how high is your lift?
What happened?

Lillbush,

Are you using them?
According to my box I don't have that part number

Re: solid roller setups....

Hi Matt,

Nice web site. I just looked on your site and the lifters I have look nothing like your crane lifters. They don't even have the bars connecting them.
The part numbers I have on my box are 10510 & 2-2404
Thunder racing promised me these were the right ones.

Re: solid roller setups....

I looked up on Cranes web site and they list my part number(10510) as being the correct one but they call them a standard solid roller lifter.

I would still like to know if anyone has had problems with them.

As far as the KM I have heard you can't use it. I haven't looked into that yet.
