something wrong please help

I have a 94 Z28 A4 with only mods CAI and throttle body bypass. I went the the track friday night (1/8 mile track). My question is I ran is several times and got a best of 9.50 at 76.88 MPH with a 2.21 60'. I dont know alot about these cars I am learning as I go but there was a guy down there told me my car ought to run better than that. He told me to pull up in the staging lanes and when i get close to running unhook the battery cable and reset the computer. I ran it a few more time back to back and this was my time
60' 2.05
1/8et 9.11
1/8mph 77.86
He had told me something is making my car pull timing. How do I know if this is true and how to I fix the problem. Also the vacum hose under the pvc hose was busted I fixed it and ran two more times back to back. The other two runs were 9.18 at 79.07mph with a 2.09 60' and 9.15 at 78.13 with a 2.09 60' and the car was running around 180 to 200 degrees.
Thanks for any help

Ur best 1/8 sounds about right i have only a catback and trapped a MPH higher than u. Those times look good for what you got. U got me on 60' i had a 2.2 and ran 14.1 1/4 @99 which is just about what u should do if not better.

I don't know about the battery idea.

On the timing note, the 94+ cars do pull timing back after 1st gear I believe. The LT4 knock module helps with that.

also temp makes a differance, turn the ac on or push the car closer to the line if possible. Just don't leave the car running in line and don't forget to turn the AC off even though the compressor will kick off under WOT anyway. The best is to get a fan switch made or bought. And on top of that a electric water pump.

your doing alright, mabey alittle better 60's for a A4 thought

Re: something wrong please help

yeah somebody told me to buy the LT4 KM. I was also wondering if a 3:73 gear will help any. If so how much do I execpt to pick up. I think if I get the knock module and get it cool I might run around a 8.90 or so.
thanks fellas
