Thumbs up lt4 cnc ported heads

I have an option to buy a set of lt4 cnc ported heads for around 1400.00 bucks. Right now i have a 383 lt1 with the comp cams 224/230 and a set of ported lt1 heads. How much more power would you guess I could make with these heads? Is it even worth the money?

thanks
Shawn

you can prob sned your heads in to lloyd elliot and get a matched cam ground by joe overton for about that price and see much better gains IMO. But, its not my money, also remember ytou have to go with an lt4 intake, lt1 wont bolt right on, i think.

"cnc" is just a method of porting that involves using a computer driven tool, rather than a hand-held tool. The quality of the porting might be more consistant from cylinder to cylinder, but it is still dependant on how good the port job was on the head they took the CNC data from.

The LPE CNC LT4 heads are excellent, flowing close to 300cfm. The CNC Cylinder Heads, Inc. CNC LT4's are similar on the intake side, but do not flow well at all on the exhaust side.... I learned that the hard way.

The LT4 intake also requires extensive work to support high flow LT4 heads... and typically, you get the best results if the porter has developed both components (heads and intake) to work together.

Without knowing who did the "model" for the CNC machine, there is no way to answer your question.
