Front Liscence Plate

I was wondering who does not have their front plate. I did a search and came up with nothing. Has anybody really been harassed by the cops for not having a front plate??? Has anybody got a ticket for not having a front plate?? My front is all just body colour with no bowtie insert and I want to put just the SS there with no front plate. Any experience with this guys?

i've never had a plate on my car...

i've gone through numerous road blocks, where the cop at the front, looks, sees no plate, has to walk around to the back to see it, comes back to the front and just waves me through...

i've NEVER had an issue with no front plate

Several of us Americans are trying to get it where we dont have to have front plates on our "Collector cars" Camaros, firebirds,Vettes,Rustangs ECT.........

I mean if you get Collector plates on your car then they only ship you one.

ive hand no front plate on my car. hassled a few times thru road blocks, i think mainly cause im young. but i also got side window tints and have gotten a ticket for the window tint and warning for the front plate. ill gladly pay the fine for no front plate then to have that ugliness on there.

Thanks. I feel a little bit better now. I will get the SS on there and see if I can get away with it for as long as I can. If I get a ticket or hassled then I think I will change my tune and put something on there. Untill that day though.

No front plate can equal a fine. Even a license plate surround can get you a ticket if it hides any part of it. If cops want to be idiots, they have the artilery. Their are laws with sections and sub-sections and amendments and adendums with even further sub-sections etc., so that they can get you for almost anything at any time they want to.

Think about the street racing law. If you drive down the highway at 115 with another car next to you, or a bike, and if the other driver takes off on you and if a cop should witness this, you are on the robes.

A few years ago I left a light in my Typhoon with slight throttle and this Dodge Shadow turbo next to me decided to boot it. He squealed the tires and accelerated to about 60 in a 50 when he finally realized that I had been ahead of him and I wasn't playing.

Well a cop was right on my ***, turned on the lights and both of us got pulled over. It took me a while to convince the cop that I was not racing, but my *** was in a sling. If I had been a young driver, my truck would have got towed and my license lifted.

One cop apparently said that if you bought a brand new car, drove it onto the street and got stopped, they could get you for some 40 infractions, if they wanted to.

i had no problems without my plate for months until a cop coming towards me decides to do a u-turn and pull me over all in the pouring rain. he gave me one of those notices that say you need to fix it within 7 days...

I've been in cars that have gotten tickets for no front plate, and I've been in cars that have gotten warnings. Depends on the cop, what you're doing, and how crappy of a shift they've had.

Lots of people around here, after they get hassled, just put the front plate on the dash all the way over to the passenger side a wedge it against the window so it is visible.

I've even seen one guy who cut the top and bottom of his front plate off so it was just the numbers and had it on his car could barely tell it was there.

Guess I should mention that I was in a car that got a ticket for modifying the plate also... Cut the top and bottom off and mounted it lower.
It was a Mustang, I guess he deserved a ticket just because of that.

i guess it does depend on the cop because i used to have it on the windshield/dash and the cop told me thats illeagle and a bad idea since in a accident it can become like a blade, he then told me an option was to cut/bend the plate and mount it onto the air dam.

this ofcouse is on my formula, in 1997. if youve seen the front of the formulas its very pointy and looks next to impossible to mounting a plate, well theyve gotten wiser and now tell me to buy a mounting bracket for it,
