Question How do you like your Hooker Ypipe for LTs?

I have the Mufflex ypipe but I just noticed that they now have a Hooker ypipe (what took them so long to figure out that they needed one is beyond me).

Anyway, how do you like it? How is the fitment? Does it hang down? Any pics of it installed?

Thanks!

My Mufflex Y-pipe is fine, it's just a little low for a lowered car. I've had it for about 15 months, it's in perfect condition. The cheapest price online is $250 plus $25 for the 4" to 3" reducer. Plus, it comes with bolt clamps, but I had all the separete pieces welded together to prevent leaks.

I'll sell it, with a brand new reducer (so it won't have to be RE-welded), for $150 shipped.

If you are interested, send me an email to ras0018@unt.edu

I like my Hooker Y-pipe. I've got the entire Hooker exhaust....catback, longtubes, and y-pipe. Great performance, great sound!

Dan, how much clearance do you have? How is the fit?

The fit is pretty decent. I have an entire Hooker system (catback, y-pipe, and longtubes), so I don't know if the fitment would be slightly different for other brands, so I can't comment on that.

I think with longtubes in general, they are a tad lower than shorties, so I'm just careful about going over speedbumps and whatnot. I'd say the clearance is probably around 4-5 inches. I've also got my car lowered with a set of Dynamic Motorsports (DMS) sport springs.

My car's not lowered and I don't think I have that much clearance.

I personally haven't climbed under the car. I'm just giving an estimate of space. I go really slow over speedbumps and whatnot, so I don't have a problem with scraping them.

My hooker Y pipe was off about 1/2 inch from fitting to the headers. I (well, muffler shop) also had to punch it in a little more to clear the tranny crossmember. But that was minor. The pipe itself is excellent. Doesnt hang any lower then the collectors.
