What cylinder TDC when dot to dot on timing chain?
What cylinder TDC when dot to dot on timing chain?
I've removed all my valve train components to install a new top end.
When I line up dot to dot on the timing chain, what compression stroke will I be on? The reason is so that I can bring it back to #1 to start pulling out springs, with the hub on.
12 o'clock the arrow points at TDC compression stroke of #1.?

Like... take more than 15 seconds to answer my posts next time okay????

It is clear. I had a SBC engine builder explain it to me.
Take the firing order and write them down. Like this:
1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8
So, #1 at TDC will be #5 at TDC if the firing order went 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.
Actually Rob, I neglected to keep the valve train on and find TDC before I took everything off. Ahh well.
I'll rotate 90 degrees plus whatever firing order I need to get to #1, and then do the wrapped screwdriver in the cylinder trick to get TDC.
Thanks!
