squeal or screech when turning.....
when I make a left turn sometimes more then not it screechs or squeals.. especially when I turn hard, only when I make a left turn though not a right..... I just put this rear end in with a friend a few nights ago and know that I'm driving it I can hear it.. How to tell between brakes and rear end noise? if it were the rear wouldnt it do it for both left and right turns? what causes the brakes to do that? should I take em off and re grease them and maybe spray the pads again with disc quiet. it NEVER once made noise with my old rear end.... both 10 bolts......

Why do you think it does it with this 10 bolt and not my old one?
was full of fluid when I swapped the 10 bolts... only does it with a left turn, i feel if it was the rear it'd do it both left n right.... I'm thinkin brakes but I could be wrong...
if you cant tell what end of the car the noise is comming from get someone to help you and drive around in circles or whatever to recreate the noise and see if the can tell where its comming from.
the rear usually will be more of a chatter or a moan sound. and i think would do it both directions.
the breaks have squakers on them when the get worn the make noise to let you know its time to replase them before the rotar gets trashed, and its common for the squiker to hit the rotor when turning and not be noticable when breaking in a straight line. pull the wheels and check the pads.
it could be the break dust, or just regulare dust from the roads yopu drive. if your pads are good pull the calipers clean the pade and rotor, and get a file and on the edges of the pad file the down so its not a square ange, but about a 45* angle or so. this allows for a smother contact on the rotor and makes for a smoother quieter break. some of the quit run breaks if you look at them already has this designed in them.

I've got brand new pads and rotors on the back, well about 3k on them. i went in a parking lot and did complete circles at about 10-15mph both left and right and didnt get any noise, but if I take a turn here or there LEFT ONLY I'll get the screech/sqeal noise.. Sounds to me like brake thing by what your all saying. but how will I be able to tell where its coming from? well it show where it is rubbing? anyone have pics?

Forgot to mention they are the good raybestos pads. I forgot the name of them but they were the best ones pep boys carried...

if the pads are worn youll see it, you can tell if the noismaker has been hitting the rotor.
if its just dust you may not be able to notice anything, youll just have to clean them up and do the file the edges thing and see if that helps.
what your describing sound like it will be in the front left, maybe right but front, thats the end that moves when you turn becouse we have floting caliers that when you turn the rotor actually pushes on the pads a little and can couse a sqeek.

in the rear end you have whats called C-clips, they get worn & you get the squeel, the way you can find out is jack up the car where the noise is comming from & try to move the wheel in & out, if it moves then your C-clips are going, you can compensate by adding washers on the caliper bolts to keep the wheel from going too far out, or you can do it properly & with rear end jacked up take out the rear diff cover, spin the wheels by hand until you see a small like 10mm bolt in the middle, take it out. spin the wheels a bit again by hand to expose the springs etc... now with that 10mm bolt out you'll be able to move the wheels in towards the diff more, this will expose these little C-clips which will fall out when touched by hand, put new ones in & move the wheel outwards to prevent it from falling out since the 10mm bolt isn't in there, do that for both wheels & put the 10mm bolt back in, enjoy no squeeling the proper way
I have the exact same problem....When i do turn the wheels to the left a loud squel coming from the left front wheel. I replaced the brake rotors thinking that was the problem but no go. So now im thinking it might be the brake pads, even though they look good.
I also noticed that one of my wheel studs was broken off. But it is only the tip that is broken off. The stud is still good but i think this could be a possibility.
If you find out what is causing your problem please let me know.
