Question SLP loud mouth???

Just bought SLP loud mouth off a guy that had it on a 98 camaro. Since my car is a 97(dual cat car)shouldn't it bolt right up? Just wondering because the guy that sold it to me said u need some kit from SLP to make it fit.

It should I dont see why not...
If it doesnt just cut your stock piece down to size so it could slide in the 3 in pipeing of the SLP...
Its what i used on my 94 Z28, I didnt feel buy a pipe when i could use my stock piece.

I bought mine used and we cut the intermediate pipe on mine that I had and welded the part with the resonator and pipe on. Then the over the axle stuff was the same. I didnt use that S-Pipe stuff because we didnt have to since we cut. It comes in a couple peaces, yours shouldnt have any problems since it is dual cat. My buddy put on a LS1 cat back on his with no problems, his car was a 96.

I finished putting my loudmouth on my 94 formula the other day, i think it should fit fine, though if you check www.lmperformance.com you'll see that the only thing they say you need to put it on your car are the hangers. Not the S-pipe.

I have to say though. it sounds awesome on my car... hope you like it loud.

SO all the piping will fit since its a dual cat car like the LS-1s. The only problem is that pre 98 cars do not have exhuast hangers. So a good muffler shop could make me some of those right? Or does a company like SLP sell the hanger kit?

The only reason I can think of that you might need any additional piping, is if he had cut it down for longtubes.

Any muffler shop should be able to add an exhaust hangar on there. It's a pretty simple project.

You could always be creative and make one out of a thin piece of metal (bendable) and a regular 3" exhaust clamp. If not, perhaps an old hanger off a stock converter setup from a single-cat car.

Good luck w/it.
