They all perform about the same, but some are way better looking. You should have ordered the SLP which is powdercoated black. Best looking one out there.

I have had f-body performance buddy's that have had custom ram air systems built that run through the big round fog light in the T/A's and all and I have ran the L.G. Motorsport C.A.I., and the SLP (never ran the Moroso) but I have yet to find a better cold air than the K&N out there!

anyone got flow #'s on C.A.I.'s on just stock LT1's that would help settle this ?

I don't think there is much of a difference in the CAI's as far as performance goes. I have the Moroso and it works just fine.

If the Cold Air kits are all more or less alike. how do you define better?

I have both a K&N and moroso.. the moroso has a smaller filter inlet and the actual tube is smaller inside (until it necks down the the maf) on speed density cars the outlet to the tb elbow is only 3" or so and on the K&N it's 4" which I guess could allow more flow. It probably makes little difference though. I'm running the moroso on my car now, maybe at the track I'll try switching them back and forth and see if there is a difference.

I had one on my 93 and it was great, the opening is 3.5 inches.
The K&Ns filter is round whereas the Morosos is oblong, which actually is larger, the inside of the Moroso hada larger crossectional "area" throughout more than the K&N. I had the Arizona Speed and marines one at first and switched later to the Moroso because it looked better, I gained et and MPH.
the Filter on the Moroso is supposed to flow 1100 cfm.

I have the Moroso on my 95. One thing is for sure...its a heck of a lot better than the stock one. I've always heard for the LT1's the K&N was the best...but then again...it also costs quiet a bit more...and the difference is like 1-2HP.

I had the Moroso on my Z28 and I liked it a lot. As far as performance, all I know is that it was a heck of a lot better than the stocker I still have on my TA . But that will be remedied soon enough .

I had the moroso and was fine with it until the neck cracked, like I hear happening from a lot of people here. It's very fragile at the ends. I have an SLP now, looks a lot better to me - I think performance is the same among all CAI.

I'll agree that there is probably not alot of difference between the better CAIs, but I have never heard of the Moroso cracking???
I have had mine on my 93 T/A since they were called calloway Honkers and its never cracked.
I'll do a search and look.

Cracking? Hmmm, new to me also. Where would it crack at? Its plastic...I think it would be tough to crack unless you meant to crack it.
