Opinions please...

Yo

I want to buy this 94 Formula really really bad. Its going for cheap I think anyway... but thats why i'm asking you gentle fellas... haha 5500$ is what he asking.

Upsides to the Car... 99k on motor (under 100K :-))
Performances Modifications...
JBA Primaires 1 5/8 (Whatever that means... good or not) Headers
Tri-Flow Exhaust
Lingenfelter Intake
Hearst Shifter
Ram Clutch (Not to good I heard)
I think that just about does it...
When I drove it, it felt great. Turned on smooth, no delays on the accelerator, shifted smooth, no crap at all really... just the breaks sucking ***.

Downsides to the Car...
All 4 rotors/breaks need to be changed.
Drivers Side window is brokem, won't open... doesn't even try
Exhaust Leak... Something to do with the gasket.

Now, if I were to find a Mechanic to fix those things, how much you think he would charge... over extimate if you will so I know the worst.

Anyway, you think its a good deal? Worth getting?

Thanks in advance...

Chris

Thats not a bad deal. All those things are relatively easy to fix. Well depending on the exhaust leak. The brakes and rotors you can do yourself. How do you know the rotors need to be changed. Maybe just resurfaces. You'd be amazed how ez they are to change. Drivers side window...been there done that. Its probably the window motor changed that myself also. Dude if you get the car pick up a good Haynes or Chiltons manual and come on this board and get tips. Don't waste your money taking it in.

But on the other hand....if your not confident in your skills and don't have the tools...

I'd say.... brake job... w/rotors $600
Window motor repair..... $$100.00
exhaust leak.............thats a tough to call one.

Of course this is all depending on where and who you take it too. Shop around. Forget MIDAS.

Does the car have leather/ ttop? Any dents, big scratches? How does the paint look? Has the opti/waterpump ever been changed?

The opti/waterpump is going to go out on you. Just a matter of when. That right there is around $350 in parts plus labor if you're not doing the work yourself.

What about the tires? If they're going out that's another ~$600 after mounting/balancing.

It may sound like a good deal but how much are you going to spend over the next few months getting it to where it should be? I'd say point out what needs to be done and negotiate from there.

Yo

T-Tops, no leather, little scatches on hood, no dents, tires look good to me. Water Pump was changed a few months back, not sure about the Opti thing... not even sure what the hell that is or what it does... L0L

Still sound like a good deal? Or nah...

He's got a point there. I wouldn't trade my Z28 for any other car.

I would say $5500 is a bit too expensive for a car with such problems and high mileage. But, it's not too bad since car has no serious mods, you will be the first to modify it . Jump on it, try dropping price a bit. You can easily get used good rotors for a few bucks, fix window motor by yourself for $55, and get a new catback for $300

I'd say go for it. All those problems are easy fixes, and 5500 isn't that high. Have fun!

Yo

Which rotors do I do a search for? Pads as well? I'm not familiar with the guts of cars so I don't know.
