Sway bar upgrade from 32/21 ----> 35/25 worth it for AutoX?

Did a search and didnt find exactly what I'm looking for...

I have the 32/21mm sway bar setup now and am racing in ESP.

Has anyone upgraded from this to the Suspension Techniques 35/25mm setup?

Was it worth it?

Why I'll never be rich...... A 25mm rear bar is too big IMHO for an autox car. I generally upgrade the rear springs some (and you have a Pro-kit for the LT1 already) and run a 21 or 22mm rear bar. 25 is too large. Causes an increase in both inside rear wheelspin and a tendency for the to skip around un not-so-smooth pavement. Also, I've found I can balance the car with a lot less bar, so more is un-needed.

However, I do run the 35mm front, and I swear by it. Camber control, response and wheelspin are all helped by the bigger bar. But again, it's a matter of what other parts complete the package. Don't try and use a bar if it's really better dampers. Or trying to use a really big bar with odd spring rates, etc.

Thanks for the reply Sam....

I think I'll be ordering that ST 35mm bar from you pretty soon.

Unrelated questions about shocks for you....

In lurking around your website, I noticed you sell Revalved Bilsteins, and that you said the regular Bilstein HD's are not what you would recommend....

Whats the difference between your Revalved Bilsteins and the regular HD's that I have? Just more agressive or what?

Also, why dont you recommend the HD's for handling?

Thanks again

Bilstein's are great quality shocks, and most of the time hit the valving right on the head. However, the missed the damping rates for the 4th gen. They are just too soft, mostly in the front, but I also feel slightly in the rear. That why I'll also use 3rd gen rear shocks on more serious "handling" cars. I still use the 4th gen rears, but mostly in conjunction with the standard HD front

Revalves are different in rebound damping rates and can be different in the way the damping curve is shaped depending on the goals. And they are not NOT a standard valving. Not everyone gets the same things. It's done on a case by case basis for each customer

I'm the "big" bar kind of guy. 35mm front is one of the best investments you can make. I use a 21.5mm LG Motorsports rear and like it, seems about perfect for my style of driving. BUT, listen to Sam's advice.
