Auto X like Go-carting
Auto X like Go-carting
I know what autocross is FYI. I'm asking this because I know how to drive go-carts very well. I was thinking its all the same concept and so I should be fairly good at auto x without to much practice.
No I would not be driving my car in the sig.......you crazy?

Go do it! Typically those folks with experience in things like motocross, skiiing and such do relatively well compared to those that have no background that involves movement, lines and decisions.
However, one of the things that doesn't look hard about autocross, but truly can be a toughy is finding the course and knowing where you are going. I had trouble with it at first. It's not easy..... Lot's of cones, most of which don't matter. It's not like a road it laid out in front of you like on a track. Finding where you want/need to be is a lot tougher than you'd think once there is no grass, dirt of curbing to show you the line. Fast karts help, because autox is also a sport that is very fast happening. Things car rush @ you, which is one reason that very experience track driver's can struggle with autox, despite knowing things like lines and apexes.....

So yea, the only thing i'm worried about is finding my way though the maze of cones. I just need to memorize the course and drive on it a few times to get a feel, then I can experiment.
