You need some type of removable media that will hold the 5-6 mb file to transfer it to the laptop. Or, you can transfer it via a crossover RJ-45 network cable, a serial, or a parallel cable. That's your only options I believe. Since you have an "old" laptop, the cheapest (slowest) way would be to use a serial or parrallel cable. Do a google search on setting up a network connection using serial or parrallel cable. It's pretty easy.

You can archive it and have it split into several 1.44 MB volumes. (So that it will fit on floppy disks)
Then use a couple of floppy disks to transfer the volumes, or you can use one disk to copy one file at a time, then once you get it transferred to the laptop, erase it, then copy it from the computer again and do the same until you're done. Should take 3 times. (not quite sure about how much space freescan takes)

You can download WinAce from www.winace.com and use the trial version to do this, or if you still don't know how to do it, PM me and I'll split it for you, then post the split files on my server so you can save them on floppies.

You have to copy the install program that you downloaded, not the program after it is installed.
