is it difficult to make these wheels fit on a z28?? also curious if any one gained any traction over the 17x9 wheels

The one thing I noticed on mine was that I had to grind down the jounce bumper. Overall I think you will benefit more by putting a Drag radial on your stock rim. Remember the 17x 11's are alot heaver than the 17x9's.

If launching traction is your primary concern, go for a 15" rim and a taller sidewall.

I used the Grand Sport offset and the 11's bolted right onto the trans am with 315's. Now traction........standard street tires didnt impress me much with anymore traction than the 245/16's that came off of it to be truthfull.

I'm running the AFS 17x11's on the rear with 315/35-17 BFG Comp T/A's and it takes quite a few wacks with a sledge hammer on the inside fender well and grinding down the jounce bumper brackets. A stiffer panhard bar (adjustable if you're lowered too) is a good idea as well. I noticed a good deal of increased traction going from the stock 16x8's with the same brand tires in 245/50-16. The car used to jump sideways on the 1-2 shift (A4)and it no longer does that.
