Couple inches., but you can still lower the car an inch or so with them. Stiffer suspension might help after you lower it too.

Its not usually the header you scrape its the Ypipe.
I have Hooker LTs and purple horny header mufflers and with Eibach drag lauch kit on it I scrape over speed bumps and extreme dips in the road at speed are no fun.
I would not be able to drive the car if I lowered it.

I don't have my car lowered and have long tubes. I don't see how you could do both but I know people do it. I occasionally rub my header collector plate on speed bumps etc. I do have Koni SA's up front and I believe they actually lowered my front end a bit though. Sure do love the way camaro's look lowered though.

I do think longtubes offer slightly better performance gains, especially low-end torque, but I think they are a smarter overall choice for street machines.

you actually loose low end torque w/ longtubes, but u gain more top end power.

well, this is what im wondering...how much larger would the numbers be if i went with longtubes than shortys if i had a big power adder, such as a twin intercooled procharger, and i was puttin 420 with shortys...would i have 440 or 450 w/ longtubes? or not that much better flow...thus only would be 5 or 10 hp difference

oh yeah, and with shortys do you lose clearance at all? if so, is it any where near as much as you lose with longtubes?

I just measured my Jet-Hots and came up with 5 inches at the pipe and 4 1/2 at the flange(stock height).

As far as clearance goes you won,t lose any with shortys.
When you get into big horsepower engines such as a stroker with a suprecharger you could see as much as 40 to 50 horse difference between shorty headers and Longtubes.

I have alwys assumed that because the primaries are longer on a longtube, you would actually gain more low end torque.
This backs up that thinking http://www.grapeaperacing.com/GrapeA...ustheaders.cfm

My front end is about 1.5-2" lower than stock and my Hooker longtubes scrape on burms, steep driveways and even abrupt changes in road grade.
I have an Eibach launch kit and Hal's all around. If I see an unavoidable bump coming, I hit the gas and get the front end up.
I'm looking at raising it back up to stock height after the last racing day of the year.
