KYB shocks any good??
When you are looking at shocks you need to consider two things:
1) Do they have the dampening/rebound rate that you are looking for?
2) Will they last as long as a competitor's shocks?
Getting shock specs can only be done by calling the manufacturer. And even then, it's hard to obtain. WHen I was shopping for shocks, I tried to find out the range of adjustability for the KYBs versus the Koni's. I never could get this information. My logic was that if there was significant overlap between the KYBs and the Koni's, then I would just buy the KYBs and adjust them accordingly...
I have seen negative feedback on KYBs but I have never seen specific, measureable reasons for this negative feedback.
I ended up buying the Koni's just because everyone else bought them. I have no idea if the KYBs would have done the job...
Shocks are a weird item that car guys seem to give a pass on. We buy them on reputation without knowing/understanding the specs. I have no idea why...
