Will A 97 Tranny Work In My 95?

I bought a tranny today that was out of a 97 thinking that it should fit in my 95. Then when I got home I crawled under my car and everything looked the same, except the Vehicle Speed Sensor connector. Is there an adapter they make for the VSS? Also will everything work correctly since my car is OBD1 and the tranny I just bought is out of a OBD2 car? I hope so. I never even thought of that before I bought it. Thanks for the help.

Manual or auto? Actually, I did not know there were any differences between those two years tranny wise.

I didn't think there were any differences either. But on the 97 the VSS is on the other side of the tail shaft and the connector LOOKS different. I just don't want to get it bolted up there and the thing not work. Does it matter if it came out of an OBD2 car and is going in to my OBD1 car? Thanks again.

Anyone? Sorry, to rush and send it to the top, but I'm supposed to have it into the shop tomorrow morning and if it's not going to work, I don't want to have to wait to find out.

Thanks Rob. I've also been told that the main harness from my car has a differnet pin count than the connector on the 97 tranny. Is one of the tranny guru's sure on this? Thanks.

Yeah, I had thought about that, but I've since been told that the main wire harness to the tranny won't work, because the pin count is different on the 97 tranny. If it turns out that this is NOT true, I'll just swap the tail shafts and be on my way. Thanks for the help.

Can anybody tell me for sure? Now I'm hearing that the late 96's and 97's have an extra shift solenoid so it won' t work. But others are still telling me it will. Can anybody tell me for sure? Thanks.
