I don't usually post here since I have a 3.8 but I've had no luck with the V6 section. My coolant has been dripping lately and today is really started to drip ALOT!! I noticed that it is coming from somewhere under the crank (i think its the crank...its the largest pulley in the middle of the engine). I'm loosing lots of fluid from there. It seems to be a pan or something like that down there. Has anyone ever heard of this before...i'm totally confused. I thought it was the water pump but that seems to be dry.

 

Could be the same thing the LT1 water pumps do and that is leak out the weep hole on the bottom. The water pump is just above the crank pulley.

 

Yup its the water pump. I just sat out there right now with a flashlight (its dark) and waited to see where the leak started since when I looked around before and noticed that the "pan" i thought was leaking was really the oil pan so I knew that couldn't be leaking coolant. I pinpointed it to something just to the right of the sensor (its your looking at the car with your right hand being on the driverside). Is that the weephole? How bad is it and does this mean I have to replace the water pump?

 

If coolant is coming out the weephole, the pump is on it's way out. Replace it.
