LT1 Cam Question

I'm building my LT1 for a specific class for SCCA Solo II competition. I can do anything external (bolt-on) but as far as internal mods, none. But.....

Can anyone recommend a cam that pretty much SOUNDS stock but would give me some kind of performance increase? The sound can't give too much away. Hopefully the headers, y-pipe and muffler will mask some of the sound.

Stretching the rule to the limit!

I know cam companies use to make cams that had the same basic lift and duration numbers but had different ramp characteristics. Sort of a cheater cam that has the same basic measurements, you know?

Get a ZZ4 cam with the fuel pump lobe ground off to look stock. And if it's a vented opti, drill out a pilot hole for it. And get some 1.6rr's.

Can't go with solid roller, have to keep it hydraulic. It might take a custom grind, I don't know.

I really don't think that there is any profit in a cam that is almost like stock.......... So I'm pretty sure no one makes what you are looking for. Sounds like you need someone to custom grind a cam for you. Might try Crower or Crane.

LOL i dont think he could use a solid roller. I think the CLACK CLACK CLACK from the solid valve train might give it away

Why not just get a custom cam ground that has a few more degrees duration and a little more lift but keep a high lsa. It should be what you want.
