stupid spark plug wires.

So, i replaced my old Taylor wires w/new Taylor wires about 2 weeks ago.. I got home tonight and looked under the hood with the car running and noticed all 8 wires i could see the spark pass though. Now i could only see this glow in certin area on each. The wires are loomed over the valve covers, not touching any metal and not bent all to hell. They just kinda curve from the loom to the spark plug with enough slack to just give the wires some play. This is the 2nd time i've seen this happen with my wires. The only thing i can think of is they might be hitting the valvecovers at some point, but I dont think this is enough to break the wires. I know this is kinda an open question.. But what the hell? heh. I gotta figure out why this is happening cause I have to order the Taylor wires from out of town.

taylors are junk. I had them on my car and they arc'd so i ditched them and i put accel's on my mach and they arc. I went with MSD's the second time around on the Z and i am happy with them so far.

Hmm, still all sucks for me. All I can get in this town are OEM routed wires and only then they would be Bosch. I think there might be one place that would carry MSD here and i'm going to see if they have a universal set for a v8 in stock. If they do i'll get that and i'll have to be gettofied. heh. Pull the opti ends off the wires I made and recrimp then for the new wires. Kinda sad, but I need my car running correct ASAP.

Personally I would recommend stock wires. My dad and I have run all of the aftermarket wires in our hotrods; taylor, msd, accel, moroso, etc. I did have the best luck with Taylor wires, but eventually they all start arcing. Unless you feel like chaning wires every 2 years, I would go with OEM replacements.

Damn, this town totally sucks. Not one single store stocks any OEM replacement plug wires for the LT1. Everything is special order, so 3-5 day's of waiting... argh.

Well, I decided to spray some misted water onto the wires to see if they would arc or cause a misfire, and nothing, car ran fine.. hmm..

Ok, so I think i'll just run my wires via the stock route. I need to find part numbers now for the looms the stock wires were ran in. I don't have the old original stock ones now, at least I can't find them here where I am now, they could still be in Austin.

I might just have "bad mojo" heh.. I just went ouside to check them. Started the car, and I see nothing like I saw last night. So I was gonna go drive around for like 30 minutes but it looks like we are about to get hammered with a storm, so i'm gonna check later.

I have a set of Universal Taylors running OTVC with my headers for 8 months now and not a single problem. Now my stockers on the other hand were arcing like crazy. I have no problems with Taylors.

It's annoying the hell out of me.. But again, I wouldnt call it arcing. I can touch the wires where i see the spark, and not get a shock or anything. It's not causing a misfire. It shouldnt make a spark like that even if it was close to something that was grounded?

Oh, and the wires I replaced were in there from sometime last year.
