Reverse pops out

If I don't hold my shifter in reverse in my M6, it pops out and will make grinding noises. Is this my shifter or my tranny? Any help is appreciated. thanks

Exact same problem here, I was told it was the rear gear syncro but I am not sure how true that is.

Sounds like it is the synchromesh....

I'd say syncro. Mine did that with 2nd and just grinded in 4th while the gear was in so I drove without using 4th. Syncros were bad. Fixed that a year ago. Now everythings good.
