Why is there a thread length guideline?
I can't figure out why there is a thread length guideline? I saw that Craig (Shockwave) locked down a few threads in the lounge that went past 10 pages because they were getting too long...Wouldn't it save on bandwidth just to keep one thread w/ many replies rather than having 2 or more threads regarding the same subject?
Some threads will never end if we don't stop them or at least slow them down.
This is why we don't like the "Hey, let's continue the story starting at the world 'The' " threads and threads like them. They are pretty pointless and it makes this site into a game rather than an enthusiast resource as it is intended.

Heres an example, that thread was a debate among enthusiasts. I don't think those type of threads should get shut down because of their longevity as long as it doesn't get off topic and turn into a flame war...Just a suggestion.
