Is there a time limit on how long you can take to make a post or reply? I have noticed that if you type for more than a few minutes you have to log in, thus loosing whatever you had or wanted to communicate at that point.

Shouldn't be a time limit, no. Sounds like a cookie problem in your browser. Are you checking "remember me" when you log in?
