Question about slowness of the site lately

I know there's been a problem with the search feature, but for me the whole site gets really slow and won't go anywhere at times. I'll click to submit a post and the page just sits there. Also happens going into threads once in awhile. The rest of the internet is running up to speed, so I ruled out my internet connection. Just wondering if anyone else has reported this. Still love the site though.

Re: Question about slowness of the site lately

Nobody has e-mailed us, or posted here letting us know. I really haven't noticed any slowness whatsoever on the site. Is there a particular time this is happening for you, or is it all the time?

Re: Question about slowness of the site lately

I get the slowness after a post every now and then also. I have cable so I could only imagine the wait for dial up users. It's not that big of a deal but if it could be made to be a little faster that would be great.

Nope, it's pretty much just random throughout the entire day/night. Not really that big of a deal, but sometimes it leads to double posts.

I'm having Firefox lock-up or stall after everytime I post; it seems to lockup on some googlead loading page or something.

Re: Question about slowness of the site lately

I'm digging the AdSense at the bottom, but something about it is not working straight with FireFox. If I do a quick reply and click Post, it just brings a blank page and the status says loading something or another that has to do with google adsense. If I manually direct it to the new address (click stop and then click the new post's address in the address bar, hit enter to go there) then it loads fine

Re: Question about slowness of the site lately

yep, that's the problem I'm having. The blank page is actually supposed to be the new post, the scrollbar for me is where the new post WOULD be if the page actually displayed, and the status bar shows that it's trying to load something from AdSense.

Edit: If I do a reply instead of a QR, it works fine.

Re: Question about slowness of the site lately

Thanks for the heads up in the Quick Reply issue, guys. I think I got it fixed. I don't know if it is related to the other problems that the other guys (think they) are having , but the help and support is very much appreciated!

BTW, I use Firefox 99.9% of the time, and I am not personally experiencing any problems, either here at home or at work.
