Private messaging, 1000 character limit:

I'd like to suggest that this limit be moved to at least 1500 or 2000 characters. I get questions about networking and computers all the time and I always end up having to trim my message down severely and leave out a lot of info- hoping that they will just assume the more obvious steps, in order to fit it all in one. I know I could send multiple messages, but that almost defeats the purpose of using PM instead of email.

Just a suggestion.

The PM feature is not to be used as a substitute for e-mail.

Once we get the Camaro IM program running tip-top, we may even kill the PM feature.

Looking back at this is kinda funny.

We've now got a 10,000 character limit for PMs.

I'm glad PM's stuck around.

That's a big change. I can't imagine how restrictive a 1,000 character limit must have been.

Yeah, the Camaro IM program was pretty slick at first but was terminated early on. I almost forgot about it.

Please do not kill the PM feature unless the IM feature saves messages for you. Often times I will read a PM and not respond to it until later that day or something.

edit: WTF, yall are resurrecting threads in this forum too!!
