Jason or Chris, I've noticed a lot lately that a thread will show, for example, 6 pages, but when I click the link to page 6, it will take to page 5. It's happening right now with the funny pictures thread. It's showing that there are 162 pages but it will not take you directly to it. There's about a half dozen replies right now claiming that they're experiencing this too.

At first I thought maybe somebody deleted a post a few pages back but for 6 people to notice it and make consecutive posts yet still not move forward in page count, it makes me think something else is amiss.

yeah now it works....I guess it just had a hiccup for a couple of pages...ah well

 

The funny pic thread is doing it again. It's showing 163 pages but will not let you off of 162.

See for yourself. Go to page 162 then try to click page 163. It doesn't happen.

 

Everyone's page numbers are different because you can set the max number of posts per page in your user CP under Options. What is yours set at?

 

Mine's set at 15 posts per page, but this isn't an issue with that I believe. We'll be ~8 posts deep into (for example) page 162 and it will show that there is already a page 163. However, when you try to click the link to page 163, it reverts you right back to 162.

 

I put my settings to default (15 per page) and it only shows 162 pages on my end.

We'll keep looking into it, though.

There's a screenshot of 163 pages. I was going to try and take a grab of it with the last post number in view, but the last pic posted is too big to get it to all fit. And page 163 still doesn't work, for the record.

This isn't really a big deal or anything, just a site anomaly.

 

I'm at 40ppp, and Page 62 shows up on the series of page links, but clicking it just lands me back on page 61.

 

I have the default PPP and it's doing it for me as well. It shows 163 pages, but will only let me go to page 162. Even if I change the URL to try and force it to page 163, it will change it to 162.

Crazy.

It could be the way this large thread is indexed. There are things sometimes within a thread that not everyone can see, just mods and admins. This can sometimes make the threads appear to be longer, when in reality they aren't.

Just an anomaly here.

 

I wonder at what point it starts happening because I've noticed it in several other threads too. I didn't pay so much attention to what page they were on though. If I notice it again I'll remember to post it. Oh well, looks like we have our answer.

 

I posted to the thread this morning. I can't see my post. I can only assume that it's on the phantom last page.
