I have never seen the thread title (in the lounge) reflect an edited title. It will usually edit in the thread, but in the list of threads in the lounge, it will remain the way it first was typed. (Like oz.valueclock, in this case)

I think it was probably due to the fact that I changed the title before anyone else posted in the thread, but I like my other reason better
