i tried to quickpost in a topic, and it told me something along the lines of "there was a post made exactly like this one in the last 5 mins" then i went back and retyped what i had typed before and submited the post again... this took much longer than 30sec but when i tried to post flood control kicked in and said i had to wait 30 seconds... then when i could post the reply, it said this and my post didnt show up... did i do something wrong or what? i just thought it was really really weird, and figured i would let chris or someone know...

 

i've had that first message show up on me before. i just waited a minute, reposted and everything was fine.

 

It is a mechanism to prevent double posting. Anyone remember the days of seeing a post and then right after it, another by the same person that said "N/M, double post"? Don't see that much any more. Normally works like a charm. Looks like it might have hiccuped on you, everything is working fine now, right?

 

They're smart enough to go back and edit their post, but not smart enough to go back and delete it.

And does this mean no more "Damn *****!" threads?

 

well, my post that it said would need to be approved by a moderator that i tried to post in the halloween thread never showed up though... that was the weird thing i thought.
