Change the chat to a better chat?

Please, Jason, Chris... the flash chat honestly sucks. It's laggy, and after you've been in it for a while, even on my Athlon X2 w/ 4gb ram it seems to make my whole comp run laggy, and uses lotsa CPU usage.

I beg ya'll, there must be a better chatroom thing ya'll can use.

I always see people go in it and never chat, and its hardly ever more than a few people.

I say cut the chat from the site. Too much going on in there anyway....breaking rules etc.

I know what you are talking about and we always look for better solutions. We aren't in the position to spend thousands on enterprise level chat software and that is what seems to be out there. PM me with some suggestions if you find any.

In the meantime, if you clear the chat window the performance should increase. I believe that it holds the logs in memory.

We used to use AIM before the current chatroom got put in place. Main problem though is lots of people's screennames for AIM are different then their board nick, so there's always a lot of confusion as to who's who.

But either way, I PM'd Jason two suggestions for new chat apps that can integrate with the board like the current one.

Like the lounge is any better? The chat is just a chat. I have never cared for its performance. Just a tool to communicate.
