To much cam lift???

I did a motor, tanny, and rear end swap. From my STOCK 94 z28 with a 4l60e and 2.73...
To a 94 Trans Am. I added a CAI, 1.6 roller rockers, hardened pushrods, Long tube pacesetters, intown built ORY, glasspack, TH350, 3.42's.

I swear my car is slower the way it is now... I dont understand...

One more question.. and let me know if it makes any sense...

I added 1.6 rockers to my stock cam, which added lift to my cam...
what is the STOCK lift for the STOCK springs...
Am i stressing my valvetrain...
thanks

Stock springs are barely able to handle a stock cam with 1.5 rockers.

The LT4 springs are cheap and will work good for a stock cam with 1.6 rockers.

might try a tune, mail order or dyno tune either one will help your computer get used to your mods.

You are exceeding the max lift of the stock springs with 1.6 rr. Some people run them with no problems...but not others...

You ever come up to Little Rock? I was wonder if I have ever seen any of your cars?

ok, I did a little reserch, and tell me if I have wrong infor...
max lift for stock springs intake is 0.450
max lift for stock springs exhaust is 0.460
with 1.5 rocker arms intake its 0.447
and exhuast is 0.459
with 1.6 rocker arms intake its 0.476
and exhuast is 0.489

So what kind of trouble am I running into with having to much lift on these springs.... are my valves staying open to long or am I just stressing my springs...
thanks

You are going to have spring coil bind. Not a good thing. It breaks springs, bends push rods, collapses lifters and ruins valve seals. On top of that your pcm will read a knock, retarding timing.Better take care of it.

so its prolly messing with your timing and making your car run stupid....

You need to get them other springs in there, and throw that cam in while your at it

TH-350 is why your car feels slower now, put a good 4L60E, I suggest a CPT trans, back in it and you'll be good.
