Zaino in the winter...

Before the winter really got bad, I managed to get at least 2 or 3 coats of Zaino on the car. But lately, it's been snowing a lot on-and-off, and it's too cold to wash the car by hand.

I'm curious as to how well Zaino holds up to the wintery conditions. I mean, I washed it tonight with Z7 and got it rinsed off, but it froze before I could dry it. Otherwise, I would've put another coat of Z2 on it.

Lately, I've just been going to the wand car-washes (there's a water ban here in Central MD for some absurd reason, so I can't wash at home) and hitting it with the pre-soak, high-pressure wash, and high-pressure rinse to clear the salt and stuff off. Is this OK, or will it damage the Zaino I have on there?

In this kind of weather, how long will 2 or 3 coats of Zaino hold up? Can I afford to wait a month or two for a warm day to wash, dry, and re-apply? Cuz it's starting to look like this winter will never end.

Thanks
Mark

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you have some wax on the car for winter it sould be fine.

I think the most important thing is just to keep the car clean and salt-free.

I make sure that my car stays as clean as possible in the winter by taking it through car washes(underbody too) and then in the spring I buff and wax it and it looks good as new.

Last year was my first winter with Zaino.

I didn't have a chance to wash at all, as I live in an apartment right now, other than just the occasional high-pressure water blast off...

I was amazed how EASILY all the salt and gunk came off the car in the spring with it's first washing.

THIS is when I realized how good Zaino is.

4 months of salt and crud washed away like the car was polished the day before!

Its actually a really good idea to put Z on in the winter. It will help keep all the grime and everything from sticking to your car. Its hard enough to wash your car in the winter as it is. Z just makes it easier to get the grime off. Z away brother!

Zaino will last and protect better than anything else during the winter months. I always just go to the quarter spray it yourself when I need to spray off salt or too much dirt. Then if it warms up enough I wash it right.

This is true. That's why you put your last coat of Zaino on in October or November and then wait for one of those warm days that pops out in January before you put another coat on. That's the beauty of a sealant over a wax. It just lasts a bit better in harsh conditions. Zymol will probably last a week on a car in Arizona but Zaino would last longer. It just depends on what you are looking for I guess.

Actually if you use ZFX, you can apply Zaino when the temp is in the forties, and it only takes about 15 minutes to be ready to buff off. I wish people knew what they were talking about before using their keyboards. You can probably use it in lower temps, but it's too cold for me to try it.

I must agree with moparman. I did a couple of ZFX coats on my SS last weekend, it was overcast with an ambient in the low 40's. No problem, drying time was about 20 minutes. Again, that is using the ZFX accelerator as opposed to plain Z6

You are so fun of garbage.

And the quote from the Zanio website aboiut temperature is for non-ZFX treated polish.

Also, don't swear at people. It is rude, and you look like even more of a fool.

Hey loser, I apply Zaino with ZFX all the time in under 40 degree temps, as do many people, and it's dry and ready for removal by the time your done applying your polish to the last panel, so you obviously never used Zaino, or you never used it correctly, and your quote from the Zaino web site was before ZFX came out.

It's apparent who doesn't know what they're talking about, and it is the jabroni abpurple. If you really used Zaino, and you used the ZFX, and it didn't dry at 70 degrees, then you screwed up. You can very easily use Z2 and ZFX in below 45 degree weather. I've done it. Regarding Z6 enhancer spray, it is recommened to use it before using the Z2 or Z5, but it is not necessary to do so.
