The Zaino Process.......
The Zaino Process.......
OK I'm ordering (ordered....) Z1, 2, 6 and 7.....sounds like a good time
So is this the process: Clean the car with a claybar to get all the excess crapola off of it. Next clean with dawn to strip the existing wax off the car....Do I use a towel to dry it or a shammy?
Then wash it with Z7? Then do the whole wax process......So I do Z5 and Z2 with Z2 or 5 being the last layer?
Also, is it worth getting Z6, or will Z5 and Z2 be good enough?

Here's what I'd recommend you do:
1) Wash with DAWN soap, the heavier the solution the more it will strip your existing wax to leave a clean slate. Or you can wash with a regular car wash soap, like Z7, then use a basic paint cleaner. The paint cleaner is more work but would give you better results IMO. DAWN is the quick way of stripping wax, but it doesn't "clean" the paint like a cleaner would......at least IMO.
2) Do claybar treatment......I use Z7 as the lube and mix up a bucket of suds like I'm about to wash the car, but instead use the clay with the suds. I spread the suds/water with my 100% cotton wash mitt....
3) Dry car with Absorber, Microfiber, Water Blade, whatever you trust and like
4) Z6 entire car using premium microfiber or 100% cotton toweling. I greatly prefer MF.....
5) Apply Z1 to ENTIRE car and do NOT buff it off. After Z1 is applied apply Z2 on top of the hazed Z1. Allow the mixture to fully dry and cure. This may take as long as 2 hours especially since it'll be your first time Zainoing. You need to remember to apply THIN THIN THIN coats of polish! The thicker you apply it the more trouble you'll have along the way. Apply the Zaino like it's $1,000,000 an ounce!
6) After the mixture is completely cured and dried, remove with premium MF or cotton. You're all done with Zaino!!
You can apply another coat in 12 to 24 hours since you used Z1....
7) Your car is now protected with the best protection in the industry and I'm sure you'll love the shine too!
8) Enjoy!!
Mike
PS, yes, definitely get the Z6....it has so many uses that really enhance the Zaino shine, protection, and application process!

Actually, yes, I've got several bottles of both Z5 and Z2, however since my car doesn't have much, if any, problem with marring or swirls, I don't really need Z5. I keep Z5 on hand for cars with less than perfect finishes. Sometimes I will alternate Z2 and Z5 on my car, just depends on my mood. For red paint, I've always had stellar results from both Z2 and Z5, however both are not needed if your paint is in pretty good or perfect condition. They both provide equal protection, and nearly equal shine....it's just that one helps fill microswirls or micromarring, the other doesn't.
Buffing is the process of removing the dried (hazed) residue from the paint. Hazing is when a product physically dries onto the paint. When you apply a wax or polish, it "hazes" so that you know when to remove it (or buff it).
Some products haze immediately, others take as long as 1 to 2 hours to haze over. If you have not done so already, you might like to look over www.lazaino.com and check out the application tips page. There is some good info there.....

Mike,
The hood on my car has not been repainted like the rest of my car has. It has no clear-coat. Does Z3 actually work or would it be pointless to try and "polish" a paint finish so dull?
