Zaino Polishes now offer supercharged performance!! - Showcar finish in a bottle!
Greetings everyone! Big news in Zainoland!!
It’s official straight from the home office! Sal Zaino has once again outdone himself (and the competition) and is releasing reformulated versions of the Z2 and Z5 polishes that are quite simply unequaled. Sal is always working on ways to tweak and improve the Z products, but this is, in my opinion, the most significant reformulation I’ve seen, and the best thing to happen to Zaino since ZFX was released! I could always tell a slight difference in the ways he tweaked the products in the past, but these changes are a big step and instantly recognizable, especially if you’ve used Zaino before. After roughly 18 months of Sal tweaking the formula, he has once again done an absolutely incredible (and darn near perfect!) job! New and old Zaino’ers alike are in for a huge treat!
So what makes the reformulations different compared to the previous versions? Well, one of the first things that came to my mind after using the new products was that Sal has literally captured a “Showcar finish in a bottle.” The “official” word is that both polishes now offer 20% MORE gloss, even greater slickness, even more durability and protection, and a deeper wetter shine. Well, they say seeing is believing, so here goes!
Here are some of the things that I think make the reformulations near perfection after evaluating the claims myself:
1) Just an initial observation I had after letting the products sit for a while was that the new formulas do not separate in the bottle like any previous version. The products now maintain uniform color and consistency. I like that the products don't separate now, but there is probably an even bigger benefit to this that I'm not even aware of.
Speaking of color, the new Z2 is now a lighter pinkish with a nicer smell, while the Z5 is kinda yellow now, and smells like bananas. As if the products didn’t already smell good enough to eat already, I guess the new scents will drive you even more “bananas” to want to use it as an ice cream topper after you’re done with the car!
2) Another initial observation after mixing the Z2 or Z5 with ZFX was that the polish literally slides off the surface of the bottle after you shake it up! I discovered this kinda by accident too. After shaking the ZFX bottle and letting it set for the recommended 5 minutes, I came back to notice no polish was left “clinging” to the sides of the bottle! The benefits to this are actually two-fold, one of which I’ll get into in point 3. One, it makes cleaning the ZFX bottles very very easy now. When you use up all of the ZFX in the bottle, practically nothing is left on the sides to have to clean out! The bottles clean themselves!! Pretty amazing if you ask me!
You have to see this effect to truly appreciate it! Especially if you have been used to cleaning and scrubbing the ZFX bottles.
3) Both Z2 and Z5 seem thinner than before which makes them spread very thin, even, and smooth....makes getting thin coats pretty easy right from the start! Since the polish will not “stick” to the ZFX bottles and it is thinner, you get even more coats per bottle since none is wasted by sticking to the bottle itself! I initially used 1 ounce of the new Z2 on my G35, and that one ounce did 3 full coats, whereas before I could usually get 2 coats, or maybe a tad more. So, now I’m getting 48 coats per bottle versus 24 coats per bottle!!! That’s 6 coats per 2 ounces for me….of course the size of the car or truck and your ability to spread it thin will make a difference in how far yours goes. At 48 coats per bottle, that’s $.27 per coat!! Talk about economical! Less than $.30 for one coat of product that will last and protect for months! By comparison, at 24 coats per bottle, that’s $.54 per coat. Another comparison: If you paid $15 for a bottle of Meguiar’s Gold Class and got 10 coats out of it (which I’d say is about normal) that’s $1.50 per coat. And of course, the Gold Class isn’t anywhere near as protective or durable as Zaino. You can draw your own comparisons with other products, but considering how many coats you can get from 1 bottle and how long it lasts, Zaino certainly isn't expensive.
4) Ease of use! The new Z2 and Z5 buffs off even easier than before. Literally a light swipe of the Microfiber towel and it leaves a perfectly polished surface. This is about as easy as it gets….not that Zaino was anywhere near difficult before, but this is ridiculously easy! How a product can shine and protect so well, yet be extremely easy to use, is just incredible in my book.
5) The products have improved functionally. The Z5 has better swirl filling capability than it did before and even Z2 now has some very light swirl filling capability! Not to mention the increased durability, which is at utmost importance to those of us with daily drivers. Heck, even if you don’t have a daily driver the shine alone is worth it’s weight in gold!
I think you will be able to notice better filling of light swirls with the new Z5, versus the older versions.
6) So what about the final finish on the paint? I had to save the best for last!
Well, in my opinion, it’s near perfection! After doing ONE single coat of the new Z2 on my paint, it literally looked like 3 coats of ZFX with the older version! Absolutely incredible shine! So, yes, I would say the gloss is definitely improved and more noticeable than ever before, it’s very slick, and there is a wetter/deeper shine than before. If you’ve used Zaino in the past, I think you will definitely be able to see an immediate difference in gloss, slickness, and overall finish. With past versions, the changes didn’t just “POP” out at you, like this version seems to. If you have never used Zaino, now is the time to start! I’ve personally never seen Zaino this good. It was so exciting to see the final result, I kinda felt like I was applying it again for the first time ever. I was in amazement at the final result……only after ONE coat. So, I went ahead and applied a couple more coats the same day……and the end result is incredible to say the least! The gloss, clarity, and depth is much improved. At certain times of the day my paint was extremely reflective and almost appeared "wet." Like I said before, this is a “showcar finish bottled up.” The finish is so slick too that after driving in rain for a week, the rain water won’t even stick to the paint and the car comes out almost looking like it was just washed! The protection is unparalleled!
I used the new Z5 on a truck that had never been Zaino'd, and had a few swirls. I DAWNed and prepped the surface, then applied ZFX with one coat of the new Z5. The result was fantastic! In the sun, the paint was so deep, yet very blinding from the shine! For one coat, it sure looks great! I'm gonna do a little test on the durability since this vehicle is in the weather 24/7. I'll be anxious to see how just one coat of the new Z5 will hold up.
To put things in proper perspective, Sal took the previous formula, added some high octane and a supercharger, gave it a good shake and…………..BAM, these incredible new formulas are born!
In summary, if I had to summarize the new Z2 and Z5 in as few words as possible, it would be “absolutely perfect showcar finish, without all the effort!” I honestly don’t see how Sal would have room to improve much more on the polishes. Although I’m sure he’s probably already started on the next killer formula. As I’ve said before, Sal isn’t one to rest on his laurels. There are some “other” things in the works that are going to make Zaino, as a system, more compatible, straightforward, and easier. I feel I owe Sal a huge thanks for putting 110% into making sure the customer gets the absolute most from their finish, without all the expense or hard work. After all, he could be like some other companies that are selling the same old formulas that have been around 20-30 years. Zaino is already heads and shoulders above the competition……these new products and changes just make the gap even farther, in my opinion.
Thanks Sal, and thanks for the hard work from your company and its distributors! It’s very hard to find a first class business these days, yet Sal and his distributors go out of their way to make sure they are the very best at what they do!
Zaino has never been better! Am I excited?…..More so than ever before!
The new Z2 and Z5 are now shipping from www.zainobros.com You will notice Z5 is now in a white bottle with a black label. If you have never used Zaino or simply a seasoned veteran that needs to restock, I'm certian you will love the results from the new formulas!
Questions or comments? I’d be glad to help!

The new polishes are available now. If you ordered your Zaino from the home office in NJ, you probably got the new formulas. The new Z2 has been shipping for a few weeks already.
If you got Z2, check to see if it separates and it should be more pinkish than before with greater smell. If you got Z5, it will be in a white bottle, and the product is yellowish, with a different smell than before.
Oh my gosh, I AM READY!!!!!! Hope Sal made enough to meet the rush that I'm sure he'll get right about now. . .
Is Z1 still recommended or is that optional now? I haven't put a coat of that on for a year. . .

Z1 has kinda taken a back seat to ZFX, since ZFX offers many more benefits. However, if you are using Z1 and prefer it, it will still work just fine with the new formulas. I still have some Z1, but I have never used it on the new car. Whether you choose Z1 or ZFX, it will turn out incredible!

Oh yeah, I think Sal anticipates a pretty strong demand for the new formulas. I think these new polishes are really going to take off!

It will serve you well. I still have probably 10-12 bottles of the old Z2/Z5. Even though the new is better, the old is no slouch either.
Sounds amazing!! i have never used Zaino before though.. I gotta quick question though.. How often will you have wash it and zaino it... like everytime it gets muddy or you drive it in the rain or whatnot... just wundering...
Now the only thing i am pundering is rather to save for my axhaust or buy some zaino hehe

So what are ya saying Mike... I order the new Zaino for the 97TA and "dump" the old version of Zaino onto the black 97 Monte Carlo and the black 01 Tahoe? This sucks 'cause the way Zaino goes... it'll be a couple of years before I get to use the new stuff!
The hell with it, if it's as good as you claim, I'm cheating and using the new stuff now on he 97TA.
Thanks for the finally telling us what that "teaser" has been.
When one has a black vehicle, one is always looking for The Edge.
much thanks... off to zainobros.com

Either way, you'll be happy! You do not need to apply Zaino often if you don't want to. One or two coats is good for many months worth of protection and shine. I know some people only like to apply the Zaino 2 or 3 times a year. With Zaino you can go all out and apply as many coats as you like or just apply the minimum. Either way, you've got great shine and protection. However, just to keep the paint in perfect condition, I personally wash every week or 2. I wish I could wash more often, but just don't have the time. The Zaino does repel dirt and rain better than anything I've seen or used. But even so, a good washing will really bring back that elusive Z shine.
It's really all up to you. You can go all out for the ultimate shine or just use it for the protective qualities every so often. One coat or 10, it will still look and protect great!Mike

LOL!

You won't feel guilty about the "cheating" , I promise!
After you see and feel the results, you'll be glad you did!
I've got quite a bit to "dump" too.....guess I could sell it to an unsuspecting relative that would't know the difference hehehehe. Nah, I'll keep it, I like all of my stock....old and new!

Anyways... no I'll plan for some nice weather days where I can drive the Trans, let the wife have the Tahoe for those days, and do a Zaino number with the "old" stuff on her Monte Carlo. My point, if you are going to part with the Zaino stuff, you might as well make it worth the while where you can reap some hidden benefits... for yourself.
The wife understands the Zaino mentality, so she'll be more than surprised when I give up my precious stock on to her Monte Carlo. Happy wife = Happy me.--ron
