Well Mike, you asked for it. I spent 6 HOURS this morning polishing my windows, Z6'ing every inch, then Z2, then polishing the cowl, then just generally going nuts and polishing everything.

I found a great way to remove the Z2 once it's thoroughly dry. Spray the area with Z6, then rub until the Z2 is off. Made removal MUCH easier.

I also took my thumbnails and scraped old wax (yes, WAX) out of the edges of my pinstriping (and took pictures while I worked). It was one of those projects I've been putting off, and putting off, and putting off. Took forever, but finally worth the effort.

Also, since someone asked earlier, I took a couple pix of an area with Z2 still on it, and the neighboring area wiped and Z6'd for comparison.

I feel your pain for scraping out old dried wax. I never could get rid out every last bit of the old crusty white residue from waxes I used on my old Camaro years ago. Wax buildup in body lines looks horrible (especially in bright light), and especially on darker colors, which is why I will not use a product that leaves that kind of residue ever again.

Looking at a well cared for or restored older vehicle is always eye candy, IMO. Very nice work! Now you'll have the weekend to cruise and show off your handy work.

Did you do any surface prep, like claying, swirl removing, paint cleaning, etc...?

Thanks Mike. The Toyota Tech section of www.tamparacing.com is having a BBQ tomorrow. There are a couple Supras and MR2's that plan to show up, and some of them have asked how well Zaino really works. I plan to leave my baby indoors tonight, and Z6 her in the morning before I leave. I'll show em who's boss

 

Actually, I washed and clayed it 3 days ago. I clay every time I wash now. I like how it comes out, and it's MUCH easier to dry.

Today's prep was ONLY Z6. NO washing before hand. And my MF towels aren't here yet, so I grabbed my softest cotton towel and got to work. Due to a generous helping of Z6 before application and during removal, I was left with zero swirl marks.

D'OH! As I'm typing this, my MF box just arrived!!!
