Cool Zaino pics.....of a different sort. : )

Hey all,

This is kinda off topic, but it still involves polishing (or Zainoing actually ) so here goes!

Here's a little photo album I made to show that Zaino works great for other things too, and that it is completely safe for even delicate finishes! I recently purchased a new ESP and immediately polished it with some Z2 and Z6 with microfiber. It's so slick now I can barely hold onto it and really looks amazing with the gloss in person. Click on "My Pix" for the album.....

Oh yeah, there's a couple of shots of my ESP JH2 Signature custom too that I polished but, I'm not showing off the polished side. It's diamond plated on top, so I used Z6 only there...... I used Z5 for the gloss black on the rest......

Enjoy!

Being that Zaino products are extremely paint friendly, you can Zaino almost anything and have it turn out very nice without worry that it will damage, remove, or marr anything.

BTW, for any guitar fans out there, both guitars have active EMG's. The JH2 has the 81/60 combo, while the EC1000 has 81/81s. Whem I find the time, my Midnight Wine Fender Strat will get the polishing treatment!

Heh, nice MESA's
That looks really great! Looks like I'll start Zainoing my KH502 now

BTW, how much was the JH2? My local dealer has it for almost 1.5K I didn't walk out of that place, I RAN.

Very cool, Mike!

I love ESP's! I wish I could play half decent ... I always wanted a George Lynch Signature Series... probably a Kamakazi!

I have used Zaino on my full size football helmet collection as well. There's tons of uses for Zaino.... and before I sold my Kramer Striker, I polished it up with Z2 as well!

I use Zaino on my 1/18 scale model Ferraris. Not "Car" related, but still car related.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.....

The JH2 listed for $2,200 or $2,300, can't remember......but I got the dealer to part with it for $1,600 a few years back. I've seen the same guitar go for as much as $5000 on eBay! Since only 200 were made, it's pretty rare, and many folks just want to make a quick profit. I wanted the JH2 for sentimental reasons mostly, and probably won't ever sell it, if I can help it. I LOVE the Explorer style guitars, and it realy sux that ESP had to quit making the original version of the explorer. I'll probably end up with a Gibson Explorer or two beofre it's said and done though. I really like their Voodoo Explorer and their '76 Explorer in White..... If I could visit your dealer, I'd probably pick up a second JH2! Hopefully, I'll have a nice collection of Explorers down the road, but this kind of collecting/playing gets expensive very quickly!

Hehehe Darth....yeah the Lynch series is pretty mean and crazy looking! I like his Serpent, Skulls, and Kami models....

Sinister, yeah, I Zaino my model collection every now and then too! Don't have a whole lot of the larger diecast, just a few of my favorites.....Vette, F50, Z3, etc... A car is a car, gotta keep 'em all looking clean!

Thanks guys!

Mike

Wow, I didn't know there were only 200 JH2's made There might be something wrong w/ this one then, I'm going back there right now to check it out

On a side note - I also have an affinity for Explorers. I've never obtained one though Hopefully I will soon though after I get a new job...

I think it would be pretty rare for a retailer to have a NOS JH2 on the shelf, but you never know. I think they came out in 1998 or sometime around then. If it's a real JH2 look for the production number at the very bottom of the fretboard, where it is joined to the body. Mine is #23, and it should be stamped at the very last fret. Since the JH2 was so popular, I know there is at least one company doing diamond plating now to guitars. They can pretty easily make a look-alike and the dealer may not know the difference or even care to tell you if they had one like that. If you were to buy it, make sure it's an original..... Or, you could just get any good explorer and have it plated if you wanted it like that without the SIG series markup. This company does a lot of work like that for pretty cheap....

Ah, can you say Replica?
They didn't have it anymore over there, but I asked the guy about it and he said it wasn't a real one. Some guy actually made a replica of it and traded it in for another guitar.

BTW, thanks for the link, I love diamond plating on guitars

I Zainoed both my iPods, my models, a rare Hot Wheel I have, my leather computer chair, and every glass surface in my house (windows/stove).

Also Zainoed my dirtbike... which... was pretty damn much useless, since it was dirty again 2.4 minutes later

Hey Mike, did you use the clay bar on your guitars? Or the Z7? or Z5? Or ZFX for that matter?

Would it hurt anything if I used these products on it?

Nope, no clay for the guitars. I don't think it would benefit the finish to use clay since there are virtually no contaminants on a guitar's finish. I don't think it would necessarily "hurt" the finish if used properly, but I don't think it would help it either.....

You can use ZFX-enabled polish or straight Z2 or Z5. I used Z2 on the cherry EC and Z5 on the back of the black JH2. I also finished them both up with Z6. You wouldn't want to wet the electronics (or some other components), so I personally would just use Z6 instead of Z7. Z6 will give a higher gloss and slickness than Z7 anyhow.

This picture has little to do with Zaino, but it's one of the coolest pictures I've ever seen.

The arrows make it cool.
