Red face Wow. This Forum just went 24 hours...

...Without any action. So I'll break the ice.

How often does everyone here vacuum their interiors? I do mine on average once a week.

Jeff.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Everyone must be out detailing their cars and forgot to post about it. Anywho, I clean my interior about once a month, but then again it usually doesn't get very dirty, quickly. A good treatment of Lifter1 (for all the carpet), followed by some Meguiar's Protectant on the plastics, and a good vac will last me a while. Sometimes more often, just depends on the conditions etc...

I certainly do not do it enough... I like working on the paint and stuff, but for somereason, I hate cleaning the interior

No clue why... I view it as a chore most on the time

Yeah Mike I use the Meguirs on plastic too. It works fine for my need. I've heard that this 303 protectant is god for stuff like that but I've never seen it anywhere.

And Darth, I'm with you I find the interior cleaning more like work where the exterior is for some reason fun and somewhat relaxing.

Later,

Jeff

Funny you mention it, but I just got a Summit racing catalog in the mail a couple days ago and they had some 303 protectant: $5.95 for 8oz, or $10.95 for 16oz bottles. It's on pg 225 if you happen to get their catalogs. Like you though, I'm completely happy with the results Meguiar's provides, at least for my application.

Agreed. It's one of those things that if I see it I'll buy it and give it a try, but Meguiar's will do. It's not worth the ordering process and plus living in Canada, now I'm in the Customs brokerage business so I can get it here but it's still a bit of a pain.

OK here's the routine I've settled into. Weather and schedule permitting -

Weekly Wash Car and wipe down w/Detail Spray

Every other week, polish exterior and clean interior surfaces.

Once a month, vacum.

Once a month. I don't know if I could live with myself if I only vacuumed once a month.

I'm pretty fussy though.

same here Jeff, but I do tend to find myself polishing the inside, two to three time a week. I like to get to work early, an hour or so, and after reading a paper and drinking my coffee, I find myself polishing the inside, chiding to myself. Go figure!!

I Clean My interior (Vacuum) once every 2 or 3 months...and my car is a daily driver. and i usually Armor all the interior once a month...i bought this thing though...turtle wax makes it...its an Orange sponge...but i used it on my interior a few times and it absorbed a the armorall into it and it SUCKS the hell outta any dust on the dash and anyplastic in the car...and leaves a BEAUTIFUL, Clean, and un greasy shine on my interior. for a daily driver i almost never need to clean my interior...it stays clean a the showroom floor model!! Im a Neat freak though....the only things in the interior of my car is me, my cd's, The Absorber towel, my orange sponge thing, my hanes manual, and my toolkit...thats it...thats all i need to totally enjoy being in my baby....

as opposed to most of you i totally enjoy cleaning my interior...the light smell of armorall and a few sprays of my fav colgne on an old air freshner makes my car smell so good inside...i get comments...seriously, "wow what kind of airfreshner is that?? i love it!!"

im one fussy guy about my car though...i wax one to two times a month and couldnt enjoy it more...

Sorry for the EXTREME length....can you tell what i love talking about??? (My Green Baby Z)

Tom

My car used to get the whole treatment inside and out once a week. But I am now a partner in a mobile car washing business that I do when I am not doing my real job, and ever since then (8 months ago) I can't seem to do it but once a month.
