I want to get my front bumper repainted and got quoted prices from a couple different places...and I my cheapest was $479.00 but if I remove the bumper and bring it down to him for him to paint...it will reduce the labor charge by 100$...Is this worth it...and how hard is it to remove my bumper(front)...Also if someone can give me instructions on how to do this it would be great...Thanks let me know!

 

Those are the quotes I received in the past as well. I was also given the offer that if I removed the clip myself that a 100 bucks would be knocked off. I'm not sure of any online tutorials that outline the procedure though.

 

For the sake of 100$,I personally would leave that job for the bodyshop guys.Imagine scratching that lovely new paint whilst re-installing the bumper yourself .

 

I would let the body shop do it as well, there are too many bad things that can happen once you walk out of the body shop with the new painted part, let alone reinstalling it again. For 100 dollars it worth letting them do it.

Also, the bumper removal / install is a piece o' cake. For a hundred bucks, I'd do it. Hell I'd do it for five bucks. lol

 

It not the bolting and unbolting, it's getting it back home and installed without any paint damage.

 

I agree with Carl. The aggravation factor of carefully putting the bumper somewhere where it won't get damaged in transit, as well as aligning the bumper cover, mounting it to the fenders, putting it over the absorber and putting the clips in without causing a minor scratch/scuff.

Besides, $100 bucks is cheap to R&I a bumper cover

 

im only 19 have limited funds...im doin the best i can with my car...and 100$ dollars savings if it isent that hard to install...then i might want to take my chances...as far as removing it and installing it...is it that hard?

Don't do it. If you've never done it before leave it to the shop. That 100 dollars is cheap insurance.
