Windex + Newspaper = Perfection?

So my dad is washing his car's windows with windex and wiped them up with newspapers, he says its the best way for a streak free cleaning.

Is he nuts, or am I too out of the oldschool loop?

yeah the ink in the newspaper is supposed to keep it from streaking. also you won't get a ton of lint on the windows like you will w/ paper towels
