people say to not use windex on tint. the t-tops are tinted. is it ok to use on t-tops cause the tint is factory and made better? or will the amonia in the windex hurt the tint?im new

 

Yeah if you use windex on T-tops it might have an effect on them, but there is a better, safer cleaner, called Invisible Glass by Stoner, about $4.99, IMO better than windex, and made for car windows.

 

thanks i think rain-x makes some window cleaner safe too but i wanted to make sure windex could hurt it befor i bought some.

 

Just don't use any window cleaner that is ammonia based.

 

Well windex does have an effect on tinted windows however becouse the factory tint on your T-tops are in the glass the windex will never touch the tint. as in all factory tint it is made with the glass and not put on afterwards this is why you cannot take off the factory tint... ask you local dealer.... however you do not want to use windex on any window on your car becouse if you spray it on any plastic or fabric by mistake it could also have long term effects just like the tint.....

 

i spray the windex on a newspaper first ne way because i didnt know if it would hurt the paint or not.

 

Heh dont know about your guys' results but with mine newspaper just created tiny scratches on my windshield, only visible when the sun really hits it, but still there.
