White Paint- what wax system do you guys like best?

Getting ready to wash and wax my white 95 formula and wanted some opinions on what you guys like. The paint is pretty decent, I waxed it once last year and didn't drive it fall or winter. From what I hear Zaino is the best... but I may paint till next season to use the zaino products. I also hear people talk about mothers and maguiers... any opinions on the products they have out now and from START to FINISH what systems are you susing and liking on white cars or any cars for that matter??? also does anyone use the quick detailing sprays they have out now as a finisher? thanks guys!

I dont use the quick detailing sprays myself. I wax my car pretty often. But if you only wax your car a couple times a year the quick spray's in between will definately make it easier when you do wax it.

I use Maguiers wax out of the bottle. I just squirt it on a polish rag. I'm very impressed with it. It made the job look great. I also wet it with water to make the application easier. I found it at Target. I thought it was a wash mit but after I washed my car with it I realized the material was meant for waxing, not washing.

If you have a little oxidation you can use an ultra-fine compound. Then a polish. And then wax it. It'll look great all year.

Good luck. Oh. I wax by hand but an orbital is good too.

Are you using a buffer or doing all by hand?

My process is :
Claybar whole car to get fallout off.
Buff with 3M 39109 (polish for light cars) w/ dark pad.
Top off by hand with klasse SG. Stuff has excellent durability and you can layer it if you want.

Here's a few light cars. My Camaro is Black so it's not listed.

My pics are in the other thread (white camaro). When I do the full treatment it's:

1) Meguiars deep crystal car wash
2) Mother's claybar (applied with their quick detailer) it works great
3) Meguiars Scratch-X (first step in the 3-step system)
4) Meguiars deep crystal polish (step 2)
5) Meguiars gold class wax (step 3)
6) ****ing pass out on the bed.

So far I like the meguiars products I find they are decent for something that is easily accessible and doesn't cost much, but next I want to try the Zaino stuff everyone is talking about.

The last time I did my car I used a buffer and turtle polish/wax.... BUT from what I hear people recommend doing it by hand... is the true and better or is it a time saver using the buffer?

I am under the impression Zaino is GREAT but it is more so reputable for being a great wax on DARK cars to show almost a mirror reflection. I didn;t think you could achieve the same affect on a white car? So that leads me to want to spend about half the money go with another reputable wax system such as 3M or meguiars. I don't know if that way of thinking is reasonable or if people would disagree and say NO get zaino and it will be way better on a white car???

ALSO anyone try the meguiards NXT wax? its like twice the price of gold class but is it that much better or not much difference?

If you're car is already prepped meaning there's no oxidation and all it needs is a coat of "wax". You can do it by hand. I hear Natty's Paste wax is good on light colors. It's not a matter of this product is better than the other, but what works for you. I go with 3M for eaze of use. I detailed this Tacoma which had never seen a day of wax in 10 years. The white paint is single stage(no clearcoat). Here's the process:

Claybar whole truck - mainly roof and hood, sides aren't too bad.

Buff with 3M rubbing compound w/white pad.

Buff with 3M Foam pad polish for light cars w/dark pad

Apply Klasse Sealant glaze w/foam hand applicator as final step.

All products will make your car look great as long as you prep your car correctly, Zaino will outlast other products in terms of durability, and looks great on light color cars too.

I have used a bit of 3M for some polishing/compound as needed.... Crystal Shine from MG Reconditioners (I forget who makes the product) on occasion. Ardex glazes as they are cheap and easy to use and finally P21S wax.

I have used the meguiars nxt and the zaino.I decided to keep using the nxt wax over the zaino;the nxt wax seems to work just as good and I don't have to order the Nxt.

zaino isnt worth the extra money. if youre going to spend more than $10 bucks on a product, it might as well be zymol royale (which few here, if any, can afford). i used meguiars nxt for a while, and loved it. i switched to turtle wax liquid ice claybar and wax, and the results surprised me. i detailed 3 vehicles (one of which a white bonneville ssei), with those products and the clients were overly satisfied.

everybody will give it crap for not being conventional wax, but its quick and easy, and you dont have to be careful with it.

a lot of stuff you can buy at the big retailers is going to work great if you use it properly. anything from meguiars, mothers, turtle wax have all been beautiful products.

my own results with turtle wax ice:

AFTER

Wow seems like there are a lot of different opinions! I think I may stick with my turtle wax polish/glaze and then just start out with the NXT wax since so many people say good things and its available where I shop. Anyone have opinions on NXT liquid wax VS. NXT Paste????

Also anyone see the new meguiars ultimate quick detailer that comes in the black bottle that they have out now? Looks like it might be worth trying as well?
